What’s Behind Door #2

God never shuts one door without opening another. Often behind the next door is something even better! Sort of like door #2 was always better than what was behind door #1 on the Price’s Right. Last week we found after much bidding and counter bidding that the seller’s of our prospective property declines our final offer.

That same day I found a new prospect. For once this one was actually about 30k less than its tax value rather than being Overpriced. Great location, better school district, MUCH nicer house…….in fact it looked too good to be true. We spoke to The Man Who Knows Everything and asked if he would accompany us to view this Gem over the weekend. We planned to drive out on Saturday. Naturally since we live in the land of itneverstopssnowingaroundhere-ville it started snowing on Friday. I thought we wouldn’t be able to go view the Gem and some other lucky sod would snatch it up. The Man Who Knows Everything came up with a plan b and we drove down Saturday and spent the night not far from the Gem. That way we could meet with the realtor Sunday morning and be back home before dark (and freezing) on Sunday.

This is what was behind door #2!

*UPDATE 02-28-2010*

So the bank accepted another offer as they outbid us. While we were depressed we know that everything happens for a reason. On Friday our Realtor called and let us know that the other deal fell through. She wanted to know if we were still interested. We said we were but dropped our offer by $10k. What do you think will happen next?

Did you know we close on this house April 30th? Who is EXCITED?!

I love it! Definitely better than the first property. The creek is great. There truly is a reason for everything that happens.
